Sunny Leone has been making waves in the industry ever since her debut in ‘Jism 2’. Though the actress has been fast climbing the ladder of success in Bollywood, there seems to be a major hurdle in the way that may slow down her path. We are talking about Sunny Leone’s sex-comedy ‘Mastizaade’. Produced by PNC (Pritish Nandy Communications), the film which also features Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das had been in the news all this while, until it suddenly got stuck at the censors.

While the film was earlier slated to release on May 1, we hear a different note being chirped by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In fact we hear that ‘Mastizaade’ is currently mired in problems with the CBFC with major portions of the film coming under the knife. Apparently, the film that is carpeted with double meaning dialogues and vulgar visuals that can’t be edited out, so much so that each scene in the film has about 2-3 cuts.

Apart from this, with the CBFC coming down strongly on films with adult (read objectionable) content, any distributor whom the makers have approached has demanded censor clearance before they can sit across the table to discuss commercials. If this wasn’t enough, the news of PNC approaching Balaji Motion Pictures to handle the distribution of ‘Mastizaade’ has fallen through due to pricing issues.

However, Mastizaade’s maker’s woes are far from over, with many of the women members of the screening committee being offended with what has been shown in the film. While a few of them have been vocal about their objections, the members have unanimously demanded that the film not be certified, which roughly translates into the film never releasing.

On the flip side, if at all the makers of ‘Mastizaade’, which apparently features an opening scene where both Tusshar and Vir are seen having sex with a horse, do decide to adhere to the cuts recommended by the CBFC to sanitize the film, most of the film’s plot will be wiped out.

This is definitely a huge catch 22 situation that the makers of ‘Mastizaade’ are stuck in and one looks forward to see how it gets sorted out. Repeated attempts to reach the producers, to comment on the same, have failed.
