Sunny Leone faced lot of apprehensions from certain section of the film industry when she made her Bollywood debut, but the actress says people’s perception towards her have changed over a period of time.

After quitting her career as an adult star, Leone, 34, made her debut in the 2012 erotic-thriller “Jism 2” and feels people from the industry have become more open and welcoming to her and her husband.

“I’ve met some amazing, really nice people over the last few years, especially this year. I feel this year we have not made any new friends, but have interacted with people a little bit differently. People are reacting to me and my husband differently when we walk in a room,” Leone told PTI.

However, she does not want to blame anyone, but herself for not being a social person.

“I don’t know want to say it’s their fault that they’re not being social. I think I like to blame myself. I don’t go to a lot of parties, I don’t go to a lot of social events so it’s hard to meet people.”

After working in five films and making numerous public appearances the “Ek Paheeli Leela” star still has her fan girl moments when she sees Bollywood stars.

“I am really shy, I know it is hard to believe for everybody, but when I am sitting in a room and when I see these people whom I have seen on TV and in movies, most of the time I am like ‘Wow that’s her, that’s him’. I turn into a fan and get too scared to say hello. I am learning to be more social,” she said.

The actress has become popular and tasted success in a really short period, but according to her she never lets the fame get into her head.

“I don’t ever tell myself – yes I’ve arrived. I just want my movies to do well, the producers to make money back. As a business owner myself I know how much it costs to put up a production together,” she said.

“For me, I always wish the producer makes money and people like it. I am very happy to know that my movie has done well, all the hard work has paid off,” Sunny added.

She had entered season five of “Bigg Boss” in 2011 and now Bollywood star Sunny Leone says she would love to promote her upcoming movie “Mastizaade” on the popular show.

After her reality TV show stint Leone went on to make debut in 2012 with erotic thriller “Jism 2”.

When asked if she will be going back to the show to promote her movie, Leone told PTI, “I hope so, really. I hope that we do promotions there.”

The 34-year-old actress was seen in mostly erotic thrillers like “Ragini MMS 2” and “Ek Paheeli Leela”, but now she thinks filmmakers will consider her for movies of different genres.

“I think with each filmmaker something different will come. I think I am still fairly new to acting and this whole world (of films). So I think with time, things will change.

“Now I am doing ‘Mastizaade’ which falls right into the zone where everybody thinks of me as. But the other two movies that are coming out, ‘One Night Stand’ and ‘Baimaan Love’, they still have sex appeal. But are in a different zone,” she said.

This year, Leone was seen in a special appearance opposite Akshay Kumar in “Singh is Bliing” which marked her first outing with an A-list actor.

Earlier, there were reports that some actors were apprehensive working opposite her but Leone says, “Singh is Bliing” was like a test to see if that inhibition still
persists.

“I think that was like a test or something. But it was really nice. I was so happy and thankful that he (Akshay) asked me to do that tiny little appearance. It was great.

“I don’t know about closing the bridge, may be. I hope so. Lets see what happens.”

Sunny Leone may have played dare bare avatar onscreen but the actress admits that she is quite shy and reserved in real life so much so that she would feel nervous to walk up to someone and say hello.

“The biggest problem with me is that I am shy. I know it is very hard to believe. But if I am in a room full of people where there are say people like Ranveer Singh, I am not going to go up to him and say, ‘Oh my gosh! Hi How are you. I am a big fan. I watched your last movie. It sounds so fake and horrible,” said Sunny Leone.

Delving more on shy nature, Sunny Leone said, “I get so shy and nervous that I don’t want to go up to them and say hello. Like in the USA, I go to a few different fitness places. If Katie Holmes is sitting in my class doing various boot camps nobody goes up to her and says Hello. Nobody does that there. There is a sense of space that you give to people. Nobody goes and says Hey can I take a photo with you, I am a big fan. This just doesn’t happen there. So, that is the culture I come form. So, it is really hard for me to break that and not be so shy.”

While Sunny Leone may be shy by nature, the actress revealed that whenever she has gone out partying people have gone out of their to introduce themselves to her. “I don’t go to social functions because I have my professional commitments to fulfill. But the events that I and husband have gone to, we have met people who were so nice to us this year and went out of their way to say hello or introduce ourselves to them.”

Sunny Leone will be next seen in ‘Mastizaade’.

Sunny Leone has been making heads with each film she features in, now we hear that after her last release ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’ Sunny will next feature in a film titled ‘Yaaron Ki Baaraat’. In fact from what we hear, in the film Sunny, contrary to her usual raunchy avartar will be seen playing a Punjabi girl who despite studying abroad will be seen sporting a traditional wardrobe.

Apart from this the ‘Yaaron Ki Baaraat’, which will be produced by Vinod Bachchan will be helmed by Ikram Akhtar who has penned the Salman Khan-starrer, ‘Ready’, and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Thank You’ who will be making his directorial debut. Said to be a comic caper the film will also see Sunny mouthing dialogues in Punjabi, while steaming up the imagination of the three friends around whom the film’s story is based.

Confirming the development Vinod says, “Yes I have signed Sunny for Yaaron Ki Baaraat, but right now I am still to cast the three male leads for the film.” When prodded further Bachchan reveals, “Though I will not comment on the actors, Ikram and I are looking at going on floors with the film in the first week of March next year”.

As for Sunny, the actress is currently gearing up for her next release ‘Mastizaade’ that is directed by Milap Zaveri and also features, Vir Das and Tusshar Kapoor.

The Milap Zaveri directed film’s first poster was released few months ago where we saw Sunny Leone posing with bananas in her hands, but this time the actors have used balloons as props.

Sunny Leone entered the Bollywood industry with Bigg Boss and was offered her first movie inside the house by veteran director Mahesh Bhatt. After making her debut in ‘Jism 2’ she was also seen in many other films like ‘Jackpot’, ‘Ragini MMS 2’, ‘Ek Paheli Leela’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’.

‘Mastizaade’ is set to hit screens on January 29, 2015, also stars Vir Das, Tusshar Kapoor and Vir das among others.

Always remember, however, that Salman Khan and his year in court made him the second most searched in India.

If there is something that comes close to Bollywood in terms of follower value, and search traffic, it is Cricket. And one interesting trivia here it is: Sachin Tendulkar is still the third most searched sportsperson in India, two years after he retired. He is placed below Virat Kohli (no surprises there) and Lionel Messi (all surprises there) and above M S Dhoni (really!!). It is almost as if India is still seeking (or searching for) God.

Sadly, the most searched topic in India is a farce, given that most of the country still types website names on Google instead of typing it directly on the address bar. So popular sites like Flipkart, IRCTC and SBI dominate this list — but, you can’t help but note that Flipkart is now ahead of IRCTC. In trending searches, the ICC World Cup was on top followed by Bahubali and two movies by Salman Khan.

Globally, former US basketball player Lamar Joseph Odom (yes, the result of another Google search) was the most searched globally. Charlie Hebdo was the second most searched.

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone says superstar Salman Khan was quite welcoming when she came to India and hence he holds a very special place in her heart.

Before entering Bollywood, Sunny had appeared on Salman’s hit reality show “Bigg Boss”. “I am a big fan of him. He was one of the first people in the industry to wish me luck and welcome me in India. In that way I have a very special place in my heart for him as those were the first encouraging words that you hold on to especially when you don’t know anything. He said some really nice things,” Sunny Leone told PTI.

The 34-year-old actress is not in touch with the “Dabangg” star but is all praise for him. “I am not in touch with him. He is a great person. “Every time, that I have seen him he has gone out of his way to say Hello to me and my husband. He invited me sometime back but I was out of the country that time. I hope to see him soon,” she added.

“I think he is turning 27. I wish happiness for him and his family..everything he wants in life comes true,” she said.

Sunny Leone is looking forward to the release of “Mastizaade” that also stars Tusshar Kapoor, Vir Das in the lead. The film, directed by Milap Zaveri, releases on January 29.

“Mastizaade” director Milap Zaveri is glad that the censor board did not cut a single scene from his upcoming sex comedy even though it initially denied a certificate to the movie.

“There’ no scene of the film that they (censor board members) have cut and thrown out. I’m grateful to them that they understood that it’s an adult film made for adults. We’ve even put the disclaimer, ‘athra ke neeche khatra’, to say that we haven’t made it for those under 18,” Zaveri said here.

He said the reason why the idea of making “Mastizaade” cropped up is “because people who liked ‘Grand Masti’, want to watch more such films. And if the ‘masti’ in this film is trimmed, then there is no point making the film.

“We did not give up. We wanted the film approved the way we made it. So we didn’t accept things, we kept discussing and debating with the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification)… I don’t think any adult comedy, not even in ‘Grand Masti’, this madness has been passed,” he added.

According to reports, the film was denied a censor certificate in May and was given an ‘A’ certificate only in August this year. A teaser of the film with double meaning dialogues and lead actress Sunny Leone in a bikini had gone viral earlier.

“I had taken extra shots, alternate shots, and all these things that you see in the promo is there in the film, passed, certified and censored,” Zaveri said.

The film features Sunny in a double role, and she is supported by Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das.

Think before you post “obscene stuff or mean things” to Sunny Leone on Twitter! The actress will hit the block button against your name.

Sunny, an Indo-Canadian former adult film star, who has become popular in Bollywood, tweeted: “I think I might have the largest block list! So happy there’s a block button. If you post obscene stuff or say mean things I block! Blah.”

This is not the first time a celebrity has warned users about sharing obscene posts or abusing.

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who is vocal about his thoughts on social media platform, has strictly mentioned on his official Twitter profile that “Anti National or abusers will be blocked”.

Stand-up comedian-turned-actor Vir Das says that he wouldn’t have done sex comedy “Mastizaade” if any actress other than Sunny Leone would’ve been cast opposite him.

“What I enjoyed the most working with Sunny is that she hasn’t done comedy till now but she is genuinely very funny. Our track gave us the chance to do a lot of really cool comedy.” said Vir at a press conference for the film.

“And after watching the film, that’s what you’ll talk about… that she is legitimately very funny. I would not have done this film if any other actress was on board,” he added.

Considering Sunny with a tag of a pornstar-turned- actress and the fact that she is easily more popular than Vir, were there any apprehensions?

“I don’t think about these things. I’m a pretty secure guy in my fan base and talent. The reason I did the film is because I like being opposite a strong actor with a presence. Being opposite a huge star is a cool thing,” he replied.

The teaser of the film has already been unveiled and the trailer of the film is all set to be launched on Wednesday (December 23).

Vir, who gained popularity as a stand-up comedian, had initially started out with insubstantial roles in “Namastey London”, “Love Aaj Kal” among others but then received good characters in “Badmaash Company”, “Delhi Belly”, and “Go Goa Gone”. He even essayed the lead roles in films like “Amit Sahni Ki List”.

“I love comedy, comedy is my life. But I haven’t done this genre of comedy before. I’ve never done a commercial masala film. And I’ve been waiting since years for that perfect package – good script, actress, director – this came together very nicely,” he said.

“My career has been like working in a company where you get promotion every year. I started with one scene in a film, then two, then five, then supporting characters and now characters like these,” he added.

“Mastizaade” has been produced by Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy.

Sunny Leone is quite upset at recent reports which suggested that she is planning to start a family. Rubbishing the reports, Sunny Leone clarified at the Guild Awards 2015 held in Mumbai on December 22, that having a baby is not on top of her mind right now.

“Who told that I am going to have a baby right now. I am married and very happy with my life. In the future, I would love to have a baby and start a beautiful family but right now I am not pregnant and not having a baby anytime soon,” said Sunny Leone. Clarifying her stance, Sunny Leone further elaborated, “I don’t know why somebody would twist my words. It is something that I think about like every woman does but it is not something that is happening right now or in the near future.”

Sunny Leone, who has gone from being a globally popular adult film star to a Bollywood actress, says 2016 will be a year of adult comedies in Bollywood, with films like “Kya Kool Hain Hum 3”, “Mastizaade” and “Great Grand Masti”, lined up for release.

Sunny, along with her “Mastizaade” co-star Vir Das, was present at a press conference to promote their film in Mumbai on Tuesday (December 22).

Here, on being asked how “Mastizade” is different from other films of the same genre, that are also lined up for the release, Sunny said: “I think that 2016 is going to be the year of adult comedies. We have three films coming back-to-back and I think these movies are going to set a standard of comedy.”

In “Mastizaade”, Sunny will be seen in a double role as Laila and Lily. The actress says she found it more difficult to portray the role of Laila.

“Being Laila (was tougher). It’s what everybody has seen me like. She is glamorous and a bombshell type girl. And then playing Lily was easy for me as Lily is closer to my actual personality, which is quirky and clumsy,” she said.

Directed by Milap Zaveri, “Mastizaade” also stars Tusshar Kapoor in the lead role. The film is slated to release on January 29 next year.

Being a sex comedy, Milap Zaveri’s “Mastizaade” is bound to have some bold scenes, but actress Sunny Leone says shooting for the film was “no big deal” for her.

An Indo-Canadian porn star, who took to Bollywood films with erotic thriller “Jism 2”, Sunny told IANS: “In the US, there are cult sex comedies. None of the scenes that we shot (for ‘Mastizaade’) are a big deal anywhere else… It’s only big deal here (in India).

“Okay, I understand people are conservative here in India. It’s understandable. But for me, everything that I shot for ‘Mastizaade; was no big deal. I have seen it all in American TV and that’s okay with me.”

“Mastizaade” also features Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das.

The film was delayed due to certain distribution issues. However, Sunny says that one has to wait for all “good things”.

“If you have a good product, people are going to wait for it,” she added.

After witnessing the almost porn like teaser of Milap Zaveri’s ‘Mastizaade’ starring Sunny Leone, Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das, the trailer will leave you in shock as very less is left to imagination here.

Shedding all inhibitions, Sunny Leone has set the bar for oomph factor in the industry even higher. Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das’ expressions and dialogues are laced with double meanings, regular affair in a Milap Zaveri film.

Riteish Deshmukh has done the narration in the film who appears in the beginning and at the end of the trailer.

‘Mastizaade’ will hit the screens on January 29, 2016.

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who will next be seen in Prakash Jha’s forthcoming film “Jai Gangaajal”, says that standing next to the former Indo-Canadian adult film star Sunny Leone makes her look “bad” as the latter is “stunning”.

Sunny, who is prepping up for director Milap Zaveri’s upcoming sex-comedy “Mastizaade”, where she will perform a double role, said she “feels the same” about Priyanka.

“I feel the same about you darling,” Sunny told Priyanka in a tweet. “Media can be mean sometimes. They just wish it was them taking pics with you. Lol xoxo.”
